Invest in ideas. Empower educators.
Transform student lives.

At Utah Tech University, education is not confined to textbooks or lectures—it is lived, experienced, and applied. Our model of active learning. active life. prepares students to step confidently into their careers by engaging them in real-world experiences while they are still in the classroom.

From finance students managing real investment portfolios, to dental hygiene students treating live patients, to business and humanities students solving real challenges for community partners—our students don’t just learn concepts. They practice them.

But experiences like these don’t happen by accident. They require creativity, resources, and faculty innovation.

The Opportunity

Faculty across campus are eager to design impactful, hands-on learning experiences—but often lack the flexible funding needed to bring those ideas to life. The active learning. active life. Mini-Grant Fund is designed to bridge that gap.

These small, strategic grants empower faculty to:

  • Launch real-world class projects
  • Partner with local businesses, nonprofits, and industry leaders
  • Purchase materials, software, or equipment for experiential learning
  • Support field experiences, simulations, and applied research
  • Introduce innovative teaching methods that deepen student engagement
