Project Overview

The Utah Tech University Golf Facility at Black Desert will serve as one of the premier practice areas in the nation. Its intricate design, state-of-the-art technology, modern amenities, and unparalleled surroundings will propel the Utah Tech golf program into the upper echelon of college athletics.

This 7,200 to 10,000 square-foot structure will sit adjacent to UT’s short game area and provide everything golfers will need to maximize their potential. The facility will be the heart of the men’s and women’s golf teams and include locker rooms, a swing mechanics lab, a fitness room, coaches’ offices, a putting lab, a study area, lounge spaces, and a usable rooftop for social events and team building. Founder level donors will likewise enjoy personal lockers and access to the facility should they choose.

Floor One Naming Locations

Floor one will contain a swing mechanics lab, putting lab, fitness room, cart garage, and players’ lounge.

Swing Mechanics Lab

The swing mechanics lab will house two hitting bays with simulators and offer a controlled environment where players can refine their skills. The integration of advanced tracking technology within these bays will allow real-time analysis of swing mechanics, ball trajectory, and shot accuracy, providing invaluable insights for improvement.

A fitness room tailored specifically to the demands of golf is critical for physical conditioning. This will encourage increased training that will enhance strength, flexibility, athleticism, and overall results. Beyond the course, the benefits of a robust fitness regimen extend to mental resilience, focus, and overall well-being, which will ensure our golfers are primed for success on and off the fairway.

Player's Lounge

The players’ lounge will provide a welcoming environment for relaxation, collaboration, and celebration. It will draw people to the space and build culture, unity, and teamwork. It will enhance the overall experience of our players and provide an ideal setting for establishing lifelong relationships.

Floor Two Naming Locations

Floor two will contain the men’s and women’s locker rooms, coaches’ offices, a study and conference room, a dining area, and a balcony with stunning views.

Locker Rooms

The locker rooms will serve as the center for team bonding and camaraderie. They will give players a sense of belonging and ultimately serve as a home away from home. They will contain showers, amenities, and personal lockers that are private, convenient, and comfortable.

Study and Conference Room

The study and conference room will provide a learning environment where student-athletes can focus on their studies and achieve their academic goals. It will be equipped with technology to take online classes and provide the flexibility needed to be a student-athlete.

Dining and Balcony

The dining area and balcony will be the facility’s most heavily trafficked areas. With breathtaking views, a place to refuel, and a bridge to the outdoor practice area, these spaces will serve as the facility’s central gathering spots.

Rooftop

A usable rooftop will be one of the facility’s most unique features, truly setting this building and program apart. It will provide the best vantage point for the outdoor practice area and the striking views. Equipped with shade structures, a barbecue, seating, and an outdoor sound system, the rooftop will be the ultimate venue for special events.

Outdoor Practice Area Naming Locations

The Utah Tech practice area at Black Desert is among the nation’s best. Designed by world-renowned course designers Tom Weiskopf and Phil Smith, this $800,000 practice facility was made possible by Black Desert and other generous donors. Unique naming opportunities exist at each of the practice area’s hitting stations and greens.
